SIG P1B investment to benefit healthcare industry in Visayas and Mindanao
|
 Southern Industrial Gases Phils., Inc. (SIG), a member of The Linde Group, supports the healthcare industry in safeguarding the health of the patients by providing consistently high quality medical gases in flexible and reliable supply schemes. SIG is investing P1 billion to build a new air separation unit (ASU) plant in Balamban, Cebu, which will produce cryogenic gases, including oxygen. With the ASU plant investment in Cebu and its network of 29 sales centers in the region, SIG can now make available medical liquid oxygen to hospitals in Visayas and Mindanao.
While SIG supplies medical oxygen in cylinders where convenient or to complement liquid supply, liquid oxygen has only been recently introduced in the region when SIG installed the first system in Davao. Liquid oxygen supply is a handling and cost efficient supply option for larger hospitals. It is also supplied as a medical product, accredited to the BFAD-PNS standard of 99% purity.
SIG had been supplying medical gases to the healthcare industry for many years now. Their long-time experience and expertise are used to ensure the quality, efficacy and safety basic characteristics of medicinal gas products ultimately administered to a patient. SIG is working towards the implementation of good manufacturing practice in medical oxygen production, which will further improve the consistency of quality and safety of its products. These processes ensure that SIG delivers only consistent medical grade oxygen to hospitals and the patients.
